The video is fairly low quality due to compression (and a handheld camera), but the audio is easily understood. If you want to skip the intros, start at 3:50. About 90 seconds of the speech was dropped at 54:52.

Caucus is February 2!

January 27th, 2010 No comments

Don’t miss your local caucus! It will be held Tuesday, February 2, at 7 p.m. To save time on caucus night, look up your precinct now, write it down, and bring it with you to your caucus location (varies by party and your street address). The caucus will run 1-2 hours.

Caucus attendees participate in a candidate straw poll, elect delegates to the county convention, and may propose changes to the party platform. If you wish to participate in the endorsement of candidates or vote on changes to the platform, party constitution, or elect party officers, you will need to become a delegate. Delegates serve a two-year term. You can learn more about the caucus process at the Secretary of State’s 2010 Caucus page.

Upcoming Mankato Liberty events

September 18th, 2009 No comments

As some of you are aware, my recent letter to the editor on health care in response to J. Scott Urban was published on September 11. Both letters were published on campaignforliberty.com: Health care is unequivocally not a right. Urban’s reply is published in today’s Free Press here. Please read it and send in your own letters to the editor; we need to show strong support for constitutionally-permissible market-based health care reforms and strong opposition to further government expansion into our lives and livelihoods.

Upcoming events:

Friday, September 25
Congressman Ron Paul and Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann will be holding a Student Town Hall at Northrup Memorial Auditorium on the campus of the University of Minnesota, 84 Church St SE, Minneapolis. The event begins at 7 p.m. but the venue may fill up well before that. If you would like to carpool, please reply to this email and let me know if you can drive or if you need a ride.

Tuesday, October 6
Mankato Liberty will meet in Centennial Student Union room 238 (Nickerson Room) at MSU, 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. Agenda items include 1) nominating new leadership for the MSU chapter of Young Americans for Liberty, 2) discussing possible recruitment activities and other events, and 3) speeches by a gubernatorial candidate and two Minnesota Legislature candidates.
